While this goes farther back than the quiz that Quizmaster made (after my suggestion...way back before users could create quizzes) the ability to put a team and have everytime it won immediately pop up makes this quiz pointless. Just name all 30 MLB teams and you'll eventually get all of them. The only way to make this quiz matter would be to do as the main quiz does and make one answer per year, so if you try to cycle through each team, you will never have enough time to do well in the quiz.
Also, the acceptable answers don't work well because if you want to start chronologically with 1903 and put 'Red Sox' (Which should work even though the franchise was known as the 'Americans,' at the time), it accepts 'Red' for Cincinnati Reds, giving you every year that they won before you even meant to mention them.
The teams that have moved city or changed name aren't exactly equal. If 'Red Sox' gives you 'Americans', Why won't 'Twins' give you 'Senators'? I get they're different team names and places altogether but its the same club and should be true if the first one is. Brooklyn Dodgers, Philadelphia A's, Boston Americans, Boston Braves...
Boston works for Americans and Redsox because they both played in the same town. Senators played in Washington, so while they technically have correlation to the twins, there's no common thing they share.
