These aren't the oldest. For example;

The Tremont Street subway in Boston's MBTA Subway system is the oldest subway tunnel in North America and the third oldest still in use worldwide, opening on September 1, 1897

Berlin U-Bahn (short for Untergrundbahn, "underground railway") Opened in 1902, the U-Bahn serves 173 stations spread across ten lines.

The Toronto subway; In 1954, the TTC opened Canada's first underground rail line, then known as the "Yonge subway", under Yonge Street between Union Station and Eglinton Avenue with 12 stations.

I'm sure there are others, I just don't have the time or the inclination to do the research.

I will rephrase the title. This quiz is not meant to be a exhaustive list of every old subway. Otherwise I would have included your suggestions as well as

The Athens Metro

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA)

and others. Thanks for you input.
