This American got 100%! I memorized the English kings and queens song from "Horrible Histories".

Nice one! I'm British and I only got 10, many of which had the same name lol

You've missed out Queen Jane (July 1553).

Poor Lady Jane Grey was never officially coronated. Her reign was disputed and thus brought to an unfortunate end by Mary, who although unpleasant, was the next in line to accede.

Edward VIII was never coronated either, but he is on the list. Jane was proclaimed queen, and should be included.

Edward VIII wasn't a disputed monarch, whereas Lady Jane Grey was.

Both Edward V and Edward VIII were never crowned also.

Easier than your kings of France one since I know the history, despite being an American, from Shakespeare and this great series on the history of England I read.

Why start at the Norman Conquest? There were kings of England prior to that. England didn't just start in 1066.

I'm assuming because that's when the numbering starts. Would be nice to include them all, though.

I would like to thank Richard Perlmutter for teaching me these on his album "Beethoven's Wig."

Got a little tripped up around William & Mary because that's how I remember them, but I sorted it out!

It's a nice change (and all the better for it) to have one of these quizzes where you have to put in the regnal number.

Agreed, though I would argue for not requiring it for the first (e.g., William should be acceptable for William I).

Apart from the obvious need to update this quiz, it’s one of the better versions for having to know the regal numbers.

However, what about Queen Matilda? Her father made her his heir, and the nobles swore to uphold this. It was another family faction who supported her cousin Stephen of Blois against the old King’s wishes leading to a civil war known as The Anarchy, when “God and all his angels slept”
