And yet Delaware and Alaska are the 2 highest GDP per Capita States.

Alaska is low because it is generating income from natural resources (no need to tax incomes). (Probably also true of Wyoming, South Dakota, Oklahoma and, maybe, Montana). Delaware generates a large amount of money from corporate fees. Florida raises money by taxing tourists rather than residents. So a lot of these--but not all--are outliers based on unique circumstances. The absence of Nevada with its income based on gambling and tourism is surprising.
