You are incorrect as it goes 67892590360011330530548820466521384146951941511609 up to the 400 mark . When you are going through this-- after the 17488 it is 15 209 209 62 82 92 then 5409 and 1715 and 36 4 36. Using this sequence it is unmistakable to continue knowing that you continue at 789 25 and 9036 just before the double zero double one double three which is a destination point in the sequence. So to speak. I do this entire 500 numbers in under 8 minutes going through reaching destinations to me that are quite familiar such as year numbers and dates. Hope this helps. the Jockmon

I have now done the entire 500 quiz in under 6 minutes as I have very little thinking to do while doing this. It seems that mostly this is done by habit of numbers like doing the alphabet. I review sequences that are difficult repeatedly until they are no longer difficult. I layout the numbers using memories of my own regarding dates and familiar parts like phone numbers. I do not always do them in sequences of 10 as some date numbers extend into other groupings. I do not do this for the sake of PI rather than the focal ability of my mind without thinking too hard. It will come providing that you review and find the correct groupings designed for your memories knowledge. Now it is hard for me to stop and discontinue expanding further and further as when alone, I find it quite satisfactory that I am able to do this at 64 years old on March 13th. I can multitask and do numbers while watching tv or stopping and continuing whenever. That is the purpose of all of this. the Jockmon

I have finally beaten the 5 minute mark after 14 attempts. It is very time consuming for me to type it out and not lose my place as I can verbally speak out clearly and fairly slowly the first 500 digits in only 150 seconds or less which is half the time. Happy birthday to me. The Jockmon

I have surpassed 600 numbers now and once I'm clear with being able to do this without thinking - the numbers remain embedded in my mind and I am compelled to look further. I only do this to multi task mentally and to focus without focusing. Soon I will surpass 700. the Jockmon

lol world record is I believe in the tens of thousands. I have had 1000 digits memorized for quite some time and I am thinking of memorizing more. I was able to complete this arduous task in a little over 3 minutes. I was able to do the 50 digits one in 5 seconds. In case there was any misunderstanding, the arduous task I am referring to is not memorizing 1000 digits, it was doing this quiz. I never used pneumonics to memorize any of the numbers. I simply memorized them in groups of 2 and 3 depending on a certain part. I noticed that I can recall numbers I memorized in groups of 2 faster than that of the numbers in groups of 3.

Soo... is it normal to try and memorise Pi? Like would it be considered impressive, and should I bother to learn it?

If you're going in a STEM field I'd say it's normal to have 20 or so digits memorized to fit in because everyone in there loves pi. Anything over that limit is just for the flex :D, I got to 232
