Ugh, I typed in "Expecto Petronum" instead of "Expecto Patronum". Could you make the spelling of that a little more lenient please?
+19
Level 78
Mar 9, 2015
This is pretty arbitrary. A basic knowledge of orthography can't hurt.

Level 22

If it was just a film series then maybe spelling could be lenient. But they’re wildly popular books. So no excuse. And how hard is it to just experiment with different spellings of a word to see what works?

Maybe add Waddiwasi, Imperio, Protego, Sectumsempra, Episky, Tergo. Other than that really fun quiz!

Priori incantatem should definitely be accepted. Also Confundus for confundo? If you take patronus for expecto patronum, it fits that you would take confundus for confundo.
+1
Level 65

No, it does not. Patrons refers to the silver being cast from the wand, but Confundus is not ever mentioned.

Nerd alert: for the silencing one "langlock" should also work. It causes one's tongue to affix to the roof of their mouth. I know it's really obscure, but maybe you can make it as an alternative of silencio? :)

Eek! This quiz was great, the only thing i was confused on, isn't Prior Icantatum the result when brother wands duel and Prior Incantato the spell that reveals the wands last spell. Correct e if I am wrong, but I was just wondering. Again, Overall, GREAT QUIZ!

There is another incantation which causes cleaning - "tergeo". this is used by Professor Slughorn in the sixth book. Also, "sectumsempra" also cuts objects.

This is an excellent quiz! I've only read the first two books and seen the first three movies, so I got all the spells I knew and other common spells, like Avada Kedavra. Of course, you could add a few more spells, like riddikulus, imperio, and sectumsempre, but those are just suggestions.

The spell is called prior incantato, not priori incantatem. That is just a rare manification with a similar effect as the spell.

Can you also accept "Prior Incantato" because that is the actual incantation that is used, and most of the others have their incantation as names, rather than the name you would find in books (Petrificus Totalus rather than Full-Body Bind Curse, Wingardium Leviosa rather than Levitation Charm). Thanks

Priori Incantato should definitely be accepted. In The Goblet of Fire, Amos Diggory uses the spell "Priori Incantato" to see the previous spells cast form the wand found near Winky after the World Cup.
