Wow, there aren't many cities in Alabama. I thought I lived in a rural area. Kind of not very relevant to the average person to know most of these, unless you live there.

Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Alabaster, Bessemer, and Homewood are all in the Birmingham metro area. All but Alabaster (Shelby County) are all in Jefferson County, the same county of Birmingham. (However part of Hoover is also in Shelby County)

Opelika is suburb of Auburn.

Madison and Decatur are suburbs of Huntsville.

Prattville is a suburb of Montgomery.

Daphne is a suburb of Mobile.

Phenix City is a suburb of Columbus, GA

And Birmingham, according to 2020 census. It's now the most populous city of Alabama due to it being the only one in the state over 100k to grow.
