Remember when the leader of the Mushroom Kingdom was "Princess Toadstool?" I was trying like hell to figure out how the heck a toadstool was a tree.

Also isn't it "balsa" tree and not "balsam"? (apparently both exist)

That's what I thought. Balsam is a product of various trees, but not a tree itself. There's a Himalayan Balsam, but that's not a tree.

Never heard of the phrase "Put a cork in it". In the UK the saying is "Put a sock in it" Although obviously a sock isn't a tree......didn't stop me trying it though.

The Adam's apple clue is incorrect, although it's a common misconception. Cisgender women have Adam's apples too, they just tend to be smaller and angled differently which oftentimes makes them less noticeable. And even then, they still CAN be prominent!

Was scrolling to see this comment, an Adam's apple is just another term for your larynx (or voice box) which obviously most people have, but it's usually much less prominent for cisgender women but still present

I guess I’ve always misquoted as “a day which will live in infamy”. I thought of it just as the time was ending and only got the first three letters :-(

Only knew about cedar bark canoes, so missed that one. Given that red cedar bark was also a common Native American canoe-making material, perhaps it could be accepted as a type-in.
