The true or false question should be false. Snow White was the first original animated movie coming out in 1937. It was also not the first movie that did not come from another source. Lion King is supposedly adapted from Hamlet, however movies like Fantasia, Fun and the Fancy Free, and Aristocats were not derived from any other source. Therefore Lion King was not at all the first original disney movie. Otherwise really good quiz!!!

Yes it was, all the other Disney movies before were already a written story. Most weren't very well known though, so it is kind of tricky. I'll look into it again, however. And thank you!

@merkin, just because it was based off of Hamlet doesn't been it's not original. The Hunger Games was based off of Greek mythology, but that doesn't mean anything.

Lion King has way more similarities with Hamlet than Hunger Games does with Greek mythos. The whole murderous uncle scenario is clearly derived from King Claudius, Timon and Pumbaa are Disneyfied Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, etc. The film also takes the lost lion prince motif and several cinematic cues from Kimba the White Lion. Also at least one previous Disney film, the Aristocats, is way more original in story. It was inspired by a children's book about kittens in New York city, but the plot itself was completely furnished by Disney writers.

Ok, I typed in at least 20 different combinations and spellings of "Bonzai, Shenzi, and Ed" What was I doing wrong? Does it really have to be that specific with commas and the "and", while "africa" automatically corrects to "pride rock"? Take it from someone who can literally speak each word along with the movie and has watched it 100+ times at least, Zazu is actually quite intelligent. I honestly have no clue why you would assume he's not. This line alone: "Betrothed, intended, affianced!" When Zazu is telling Nala and Simba they are going to be married. This has been said but also it was loosely based on Hamlet.

Elton John and Tim Rice didn't write the soundtrack, they wrote the songs. Hans Zimmer wrote the soundtrack.

Wildebeest is spelled incorrectly and the animal is also frequently called a gnu. Also, "The Pridelands" would be a more concise answer than "Pride Rock", which is a specific location within the Pridelands and, though many important scenes take place there, arguably isn't the setting for most of the movie.
