This would be more more challenging if you removed either the letter or continent as a hint. 30 minutes is way too much time for this since most continents only have a couple options for countries per letter.

why would you want this to be more challenging?

Canada's record of 45.0 from 1937 was broken yesterday in Lytton, BC. The new record is 46.6.

Yes i will wait for the current heat wave to slow down on wednesday in order to enter the final record value. What a jump on the ranking for Canada though

Well 46.6°C was not enough at all for Canada, what an insane heat wave

49.6 is a crazy increase over the previous record.

Some answers are very unintuitive! Who would have thought that Canada would be some 150 places ahead of Barbados on such list. I guess some warm places never get extremely warm because of being close to the sea and stuff.

Level 65
Jul 24, 2021
Exactly! Same for Monaco being in a warm spot of Europe but never getting really hot thanks to the sea influence. And for Canada to be honest the June 2021 heat wave helped a lot to jump on the rankings...

These types of quizzes always drive me mad.

A hot country, first letter S- Sudan-no, South Sudan-no, Somalia-no, Spain-no, Senegal-no, South Africa-no, WTF how are there so many countries beginning with the same letter and how come it's never the one I'm thinking of! Ok, I'll come back to the S one later, next one: M. Mali- no, Malawi- no, Mauritania- no, Malayisa- no, Malta-no... please have mercy... 2 minutes later: oh, I see on the map that I haven't tried Morocco yet.

i had no idea that the equator countries didn't get that hot

The countries around the equator stay warm but they don't get too much fluctuation throughout the year.
