More than half of these represented a merging of either former Super Bowl opponents or Conference Championship Game opponents. Teams that have a big-game history with each other.
Dallas Eagles, yuck! I have disliked (hate is too strong a word apparently) the Eagles since the 1970's. PLEASE don't ever put them together like that again!
Of note, during the War (II) years, the Steelers actually merged with other teams twice.
For the 1943 season, they merged with Philadelphia to form the Phil-Pitt Combine, nicknamed "Steagles".
Then in 1944, they merged with the Chicago Cardinals to form Card-Pitt, which became "Carpets" to sportswriters of the day, as the team were basically doormats, finishing 0-10 for the year.
The Buffalo/KC logo actually looks really nice. The Washington/Tennessee logo looks like it could be the new WFT logo. The Baltimore/NYG logo looks like what the logo would be if the Ravens moved to NYC. The Chicago/Detroit one, even though it is blasphemous, looks nice. Seattle/NYJ looks like a possible logo. Miami/New England looks like something snowbirds or retirees came up with moving from New England to South Florida.
I was thinking that the KC Bills logo looked pretty sick myself. Never thought a Cleveland Broncos helmet would look good either, but it did. And I don't know why, but I like the Los Angeles Steelers logo.
That would be awesome as an actual logo!
