There at 76 cities in the United Kingdom. How many can you match with the pictures below?
Hints include country and year in which each settlement was granted city status
Due to the fact that many ancient settlements were granted city status as a result of the presence of a cathedral, a large proportion of the pictures below are ecclesiastical in nature
Thanks for the comment. Originally, I had it set with yellow boxes, but, as can be seen from the average score thus far, I suspected that the results would have been incredibly low. Still, I may yet revert back to the yellow boxes.
The results maybe be lower but without the yellow box it’s just a quiz to list all the cities, the pictures add little value
But with a yellow box this quiz is much more unique and valuable to the person taking it. Just my view on it. Thanks for the hard work putting things together.
I agree. As both you and I said above, the results suggest that scores would be much lower with the yellow box. The nature of the quiz, as it stands now, is to test whether or not one can list all of the cities and the pictures function as additional hints. To make the quiz a 'yellow box'-type quiz, some cities would be quite difficult to guess since (and I don't mean to disparage any cities) several cities have very little to offer in the way of 'iconic scenes'.
