But Kilimanjaro is on the border between Tanzania and Kenya, and similarly Elbrus between Russia and Georgia.

Have lived in Tanzania my whole life. Kilimanjaro is definitely completely in Tanzania. You have to drive a good 5 hours to reach the border of Kenya from the town (Moshi) where Kilimanjaro is located.

Kenyan here. I can most definitely confirm that it's indeed in Tanzania. No one in Kenya considers it a Kenyan feature.

Why? Virtually everyone you hear who climbs Everest, not to mention the Sherpa strike, etc., is from the Nepal side.

So what? Nobody climbs from the north side means the north side does not exist?

Isn't Puncak Jaya a better known name for Carstensz Pyramid?

"Puncak Jaya" gives the country away easily. Maybe the point is for it to be a bit harder?

I never heard of either one. For some reason I always forget about Indonesia - I mentally go through all the continents and skip over it because it isn't attached.

Forgetting about Indonesia is probably something to work on - it is the world's fourth most populous nation after all, which makes it somewhat significant as these things go.

Why is Carstensz Pyramid considered the highest mountain in Oceania if it's in Indonesia - an Asian country?

It's part of the same plaque, it the sea level is lowered Indonesia clearly belongs the same "continent" in which Australia is located

Carstensz Pyramid is in New Guinea, but the half controlled by Indonesia. Whilst most of Indonesia is indeed in Asia, the divide is usually drawn along the Wallace Line, which places the island of New Guinea in Oceania (or Australasia - Oceania is a region rather than a continent). Just like Turkey and Russia, Indonesia is a transcontinental nation.

A peninsula is a piece of land surrounded on three sides by water, Yucatan is that in Mexico, the little bit of that peninsula that Belize touches is just a coastline. Guatemala even has it's coast on the Pacific Ocean, plus a tiny line of coast near Honduras. see ... ... https://www.google.com.au/maps/@19.5272673,-93.621201,6z
