America's most talented actor? Puh-Leez! His movies are almost universally dark and painful to watch - with only one exception (the second movie he made, 30 years ago) he's never been able to do comedy, and his attempts at mixing his personal life (Shanghai Surprise?) and politics (Assassination of Richard Nixon?) into his film projects have been laughable. This is one film lover who goes out of his way to AVOID movies with Penn in them... and I still managed to score better than 86% of test takers by remembering 11 of them (most of which I haven't even seen).
Persepolis?? Was that in the English dub version? I've seen the movie several times but only in the original French.
Agree with some others here, Penn is overrated as an actor. And look at this resume... barely a memorable film on it. I guess he was alright in The Game and Milk. The Thin Red Line looked promising but put me to sleep when I tried to actually watch it. I Am Sam I thought was awful. Many of these other ones I've never heard of before. Haven't seen Gangster Squad but it looked terrible and the title just screams generic and crappy. They seriously couldn't think of a better title than "Gangster Squad??"
