Rolling Stones top 100 greatest artists of all time
"Wherever we are,
it is but a stage on the way to somewhere else,
and whatever we do,
however well we do it,
it is only a preparation to do something else that shall be different."
Robert Louis Stevenson
I agree - some bands you require "The" (like The Allman Brothers Band) and others you do not (like The Grateful Dead which is accepted as Grateful Dead). Make up your mind and put it in the instructions at top. Plus there is a spelling error for Parliment and Funkadelic - it is actually Parliament-Funkadelic.
You would have to be a super typist to be able to enter all 100 acts without any abbreviations in the allotted time.
Besides all the corrections listed previously, it would also help if you accepted CCR for Creedence Clearwater Revival. That is a pretty standard abbreviation.
This quiz is way too strict on the wording. Also missed several because it does not accept answers without the word 'The' in front of it. I agree that surnames should be enough. Felt more like a spelling test than a music quiz.
This quiz could be great if it allowed some type-ins. I wasted a ton of time having to type full names and having to type "the" before band names, and I missed Sly & the Family Stone because apparently the ampersand wasn't an acceptable replacement for the word "and." And almost missed Tupac because I had to type "Shakur" for it to be accepted?
Other than that, my only complaint is that Rolling Stone lists are terrible. Not that any of these bands are awful, but Beastie Boys and Gram Parsons over Fleetwood Mac or Miles Davis?
I agree - the word "The" should not be required and last names should be accepted.
Also you spelled Parliament incorrectly.
