Unfortunately those dogs that exist in Asia do so for human consumption, the way cattle exist in the west.

What are these numbers based on? It's hard to believe, for example, that there are fewer dogs in the Philippines than in Ukraine. You see strays all over the place there and the country has a much larger population.
