The word "know" (originally something like "gno" or "gneh", pronounced with a hard "g") is at least six thousand years old. Can you guess these other English words that are descended from it?
Awesome quiz, but, maybe a little more time would be good.. and some of the clues aren't exactly perfect.. could lead you to different answers. Sometimes I would guess one thing and get the answer for something else. Other times I think there are other answers that fit that don't show up, like, "ignominius" which I'm sure has the same root for "notorious." That's one example there are at least 6 or 7 others. A 6000 year old word will end up with a lot of derivatives. Anyway, cool quiz regardless.
Actually, "ignominious" is not a "know" word; it's in the "name" (originally something like "nomn") family. (Compare with "cognomen", "nomination", "nomenclature", "nominal", "noun", "binomial", etc.)
