Interesting quiz but you ask for names of COUNTRIES, and Scotland isn't an autonomous country; it's a region within one. Scotland needs to be replaced with UK, or the word "country" replaced with "region".

Scotland is a (constituent) country and autonomous just not sovereign.

I like this quiz much more than the other "countries in latin" quiz

Scotland not being an independent country but still being a country is the same ol' problem you encounter in a lot of other quizzes, so I see travelfan's objection.

Perhaps the Quizmaster should set a precedent, clarifying that once and for all.

Difficult, isn't it, when former names don't really match up with current countries. Scythia is far wider a term than just the Ukraine - it could also be Russia or Afghanistan, to name but two - but I think you've made a very good fist of this tricky subject. Thank you!

Yes. Modern day Ukraine is a very small part of Scythia.

you should allow Czechia for Czech Republic

Didn't expect to see Ecuador here! I was thinking of countries the Romans actually knew about. Same goes for the USA, although that was easy to guess.

Why are the United States "foederatae" instead of "unitae"?

Quiz doesn't really make sense. It says "Country names in Latin" while you give names for territories which now belong to those countries.

I would consider a revision to this quiz
