Fun - at first I though I was doomed - but the generous amount of time helped - as well as the alphabetical order... I got 39 and should have had a few others...

Of course I kept typing in artists randomly ahaha.

Interesting mix - Oscar Peterson, Godspeed You Black Emperor, The Diamonds, Tanya Tagaq - wow!

I looked for: Bruce Cockburn, The Band, Ron Sexsmith, Steppenwolf, Mahogany Rush, Lighthouse, Stan Rogers, NoMeansNo, Rheostatics, Sam Roberts Band, Kate and Anna McGarrigle, Chilliwack, Glenn Gould, Buffy Ste Marie and Teenage Head.

Lot of good music comes out of Canada!

Yeah, I thought it would be too difficult so I decided to sort them alphabetically to make it a little easier. Also there's plenty of time as it's not intended to be a speed typing challenge, but rather a way to see how many of these artists you can name.

Nice that you noticed the diversity, I actually included at least 1 artist per province/territory, and tried to not only go for the famous mainstream artists.

I know there are a lot more famous artists that could easily make up a second list, but decided to stick with 75 so that the list wouldn't be too overwhelming (although it may already be for some).

I considered including Steppenwolf and The Band, but since they are usually considered "Canadian-American" (members from both Canada and the US and founded/based in the US) I decided against it (I know that's nitpicky but I had to make the cut somewhere).

Canada, like most countries tbf, surely has some great music!

I got 41. I live in Quebec so I know a fair amount of Quebec artists but never heard of Natasha St-Pier in my life. I looked her up and is only popular in France/Belgium... How do you know who this is?

Nice score!

To be fair, I don't claim to know all of them ;)

I did some intensive research (Wikipedia-Chart History, Youtube, Spotify) and it seemed that she is quite popular (probably not in Canada itself but not everyone who plays this quiz is Canadian either).

Additionally, I wanted to include all provinces/territories and she happens to be from New Brunswick (which doesn't have that many famous musicians) so she seemed like a good fit for this quiz.

Aaahh. OK. Hahaha. Yeah, I don't think I know any artists from New Brunswick. There was a really famous guy on the La Voix called Travis Cormier from Moncton. Also Henry Burr was from Saint Stephen. He alongside Albert Campbell were quite popular in the 1910's and 1920's. I know that is going waaay back but one of those songs is "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles" which remains a huge song for West Ham United in the UK. Hahaha. But yeah, I've heard all these Canadian artists except that Natasha St-Pier which just didn't ring any bells. I was like, how could I not know who this is! Is my knowledge slipping?! hahah

Yeah that can happen

I will probably make a second part with more artists, although that won't be done in the near future because it takes some time and there's other things I want to finish first.
