I don't doubt that there are many highly undemocratic countries in Asia - likely more than in any other continent. However, the fact that you have omitted communist China from the list, a country with no meaningful democracy at all which oppresses the rights of all sorts of minorities - Uighurs, Tibetans, Christians etc. etc. - and interferes with outside communication in all sorts of ways - banning reporters, censoring the internet, appointing "minders" to tourists - all suggests that you have been "got at" by their evil leaders.
I am well aware of these issues and I'm not a fan of the Chinese government. But if you look at the status, China scores high in "functioning of government" and "political culture". However they score 3.89 in terms of "political participation" which I'm not that sure if it deserves that number or not.
