WWII did not end with Germany surrendering. The war ended after the Japanese surrender. Also, that question is too vague anyway and should be removed or dramatically reworded.
It is absolutely ridiculous to demand the "S" in Harry Truman; for one thing, it stands for nothing. And, as to how WWII ended, accepting only Germany is pathetic. What about Japan? Could the war have ended without its surrender? - Surrender of the Axis would have been more correct or, alternately, accept both Germany and Japan.
