The Sims and The Sims 2 have her as an adult, The Sims 4 has her as a young adult, but The Sims 3 is the only game where she is a child.

The Sims 1, 2 and 3 all fit neatly into a timeline, where The Sims 3 is first, 1 is second and 2 is last. However, it has been confirmed that Sims 4 does not fit into this timeline.

In The Sims 1, 2, and 4, when traveling out of the neighbourhood, loading screens pop up. But in the Sims 3, it is seamless, so you get to see your Sim going through the town.

The Sims 1 uses 2D backgrounds that can only be viewed at certain angles, which makes gameplay difficult. The other three games allow you to see your creations from every angle.

The Sims 1, 2, and 3 feature the Newbie family, with Bob and Betty (although in the Sims 3, she is still with her parents, with the surname Simovich), buth the Sims 4 replaced them with Bob and Eliza Pancake.

The Sims 1 does not feature an expansion with weather, therefore it has none called Seasons.

The Sims 2 is the only game for aliens to appear without you needing to purchase any additional packs. However, in the Sims 1, 3 and 4 there are various references to aliens. In the Sims 3 Seasons expansion pack, aliens can appear, however. Same with the Sims 4 Get To Work, where you can access a teleporter to another planet where you can meet aliens.

In the Sims 3, if a TV is more expensive, it will be able to access more channels. In the other games, all TVs, regardless of price, can access all channels.

In the sims 1, you couldn't choose specific colors, you could only choose from different pre-set heads. In the Sims 2 and 4, you can choose a lot of aspects, but everything has only a few colour variations. In the Sims 3, you can choose any colour from a colour wheel, or any pattern, to be on your hair, hair accesory, clothes, or make-up.

Sometime between the Sims 1 and 2, Bella in Strangetown (a world from the Sims 2: Base Game) gets abducted by aliens.
