Songs that Spent the Most Weeks at #1 in the U.S. -- 1960s

These songs were #1 the most weeks in their respective years on the Billboard Hot 100. The answers are according to the archive at www.billboard.com.

In many cases, other songs eventually ended up selling more copies, but this only considers number of weeks at #1 in that year.

This criteria also means that some songs get the shaft because their run at #1 crossed New Years. Most notable is "One Sweet Day" in the 1990s quiz, which holds the record for most consecutive weeks at #1, but that run bridged 1995 and 1996, and it didn't end up the leader for 1995 or 1996 so it doesn't make the list.

YouTube views are great and all, but things like "Gangnam Style" don't make the list despite blazing to a billion views so fast.
