Is it really correct to say that Kansas used to be a part of Texas, when it's only the small portion (less than 10%) of the state south and west of Dodge City that was? Is it correct to say that the United States used to be part of Russia since Alaska was?

cpgatbyu, I realize that Kansas was not fully part of Texas, but some of it was, so I consider it as part of Texas, and on your other comment, I did the drivable distance using Google Maps, not Google Earth, so that's why it says that, and I will elaborate on that question. Thank you for your concern.
