How about by proximity?

Regarding France, you misspelled Limoges as "Limonges", Chambéry as "Chamberly", and also Reims is out of place: it should be in the north east, not south east.

I wanted to get as many as I could so I ended up taking it untimed. I ended up getting exactly 800 which I'm pretty proud of though I missed some pretty obvious ones like Manchester and Honolulu. But I gotta ask you why you chose Viborg in Denmark it's only like the 20th biggest city?

Is Kunming's ID spelled wrong? It doesn't show up on the map. (dw this happens to me a lot)

The city in Chile is Concepción, not Conception.

In the caveats, you've misspelled category and relevant.

707. Most guessed one I missed was Canberra, but I chalk that up to almost being out of time when I got to Australia.

This must have taken ages to create. Therefore I hate to criticise the map but there do seem to be a number of inaccuracies in placement of the dots. For example (I'll stick to the country of my birth), Brighton appears to be inland. So does Cardiff. London seems to be detached from the Thames estuary. Bradford has moved to due North of Manchester whilst Coventry and Birmingham are the wrong way round.

Great quiz, but the locations of many dots on the map are quite odd. For example in Germany: The dot of Münster is placed way too far north (in a location where the towns of Vechta or Wildeshausen are). The same with the dot of Bielefeld (the dot is at the location of the town of Nienburg). And there are many more examples.

The dot for Charleroi, Belgium is in the wrong place.

It must be placed more to the west, straight under Brussels.

You listed Manama under Saudi Arabia even know it is in Bahrain
