Great Britain is the island where there is Scotland, Wales, and England. Northern Ireland is separate, on the island of Ireland. Therefore United Kingdon is a country of countries!

FYI: Without Northern Ireland, U.K. may change its name.

Good idea to give some hints for the answers, not becuase it would help much but it provides some extra information. Please accept UK for United Kingdom.
