So WAR is an aggregate stat, like home runs? I always thought it was an average, like batting average or ERA, that fluctuates over time. I know it's "Wins Above Replacement" and it's supposed to represent how many more wins a player is worth than the average player at their position, but I have no idea how it's calculated.

I was thrown off by the name. I started naming LA guys, then looked at the dates. Half of them are from Brooklyn!
