You will find that I arranged the words in alphabetical order, from the lowest to the highest number of letters :)

However, I have also accepted the American spelling of 'oesophagus' (esophagus).

Seems like this quiz is harder than I thought!

Clearly this quiz is a challenge to many people since it depicts (standard) British pronunciation instead of American.

No, that's not it, it's that half the words are so rare most NATIVE BRITISH peakers haven't heard of or don't know how to spell!

I've heard of all these words before many times, and I'm 20 and from Malaysia. Perhaps English isn't your first language?

Technically no, but I learnt it at age 4 or STH, so it is the first language in my thoughts. It's the language I think and speak in and have grown up with in school, being from the UK.

ummmm, what the heck?!!!

a) r is a trill, and a is the ar sound

b) 1/2 of these words not even native english speakers can spell let alone have heard of!! Like what on earth is thence, ennui or adjourn, or the nightmarish reveille!

No, it is that who on this earth can spell and heck, even think of words like reveille, perambulator, or thence??????????

Never heard of a "budgerigar" before. As an American, really had to lean into a British (?) accent to get some of these. And I second the comments of LuigiLikesFlags.

Also, before I get a response. English is my first language. I am about the same age as you (as of your previous comments). This was still quite hard.

I see; some of the words I'd chosen because of their RP-specific pronunciation; perhaps they're a bit difficult
