Not sure whether to belittle the meaninglessness of most of these declarations - (those Uruguayan marines really helped turn the tide!) - or to scold modern-day countries for always being such a bunch of dithering pussies that they never declare war for almost any reason, even if they've had an invasive force of tens of thousands of troops deployed for decades. For instance most of the free and democratic world right now has practically declared war on Russia... but I'm sure by the time the present situation and "special military operation" has resolved not a single declaration will have been made. Has Ukraine even declared war on Russia at this point?
The world is now more interdependent than it used to be then and states would have to suffer more consequences than they had to. Also, this quiz is on countries that declared war on Japan in WWII, a whole 6 year long period. Not exactly a fair comparison imo.
