Why doesn't northwest work for Northwest territories and north for northern territory?

They were on World Subdivisions, but those weren’t automatic.

It's always "Northwest Territories", accepting just the first half doesn't sit right for some reason.

Might I suggest adding NWT as a typein though?

That would be nice, it was the shorthand we were taught in school along with PEI.

Please accept Tamanrasset as a type-in.

Well nothing sort of surprising I know from our sub division expert IAB kun, but still your quizzes and maps always surprises me with utter shock and amusement

Minnesota, Idaho, Oklahoma, Washington Utah, North Dakota, Missouri, Nebraska Kansas and South Dakota are all larger than Michigan.

https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/2010/geo/state-area.html

Presumably, Michigan's adjacent Great Lakes area was included, adding over 40% to its land area.

Look at the map of Canada and this is like calculating more than 3 Hudson Bays into their area.

If the 200-nautical mile Exclusive Economic Zone of the Pacific Ocean off California was included in its area, it would be a larger percentage, but the exact same idea. Hawaii would jump nearly 30-fold including those adjacent waters.

Never really thought about it til now, but what map projection does JetPunk use? I've been using this website for about 8 months now, but never noticed that, like the Mercator, places like Greenland and Alaska look big, but, unlike the Mercator, Africa is sufficiently large
