No, he means at one point, the portuguese controlled the malay archipelago, before the netherlands took it out from under them.

No, the Portuguese conquered Malacca in 1511 and controlled the straits until the Dutch took the region from them in the 17th century. So this quiz is wrong. They need to add Malaysia and Indonesia, as the Portuguese controlled territory in those regions as well (not to mention you could argue the Jesuits that oficially founded and controlled Nagasaki for were a part of the Portuguese empire)

I never knew Portugal only controlled a bit of Angola/Mozambique, and I also had no idea they ever controlled Uruguay.

There's a cute Portuguese-built colonial town in Uruguay directly across the river from Buenos Aires, appropriately called "Colonia", worth a fast ferry trip from BA.

There is indeed. It's a very very pretty place and has very colonial architecture there. There are some cool old ruins to see as well.

I know you've put it as an exclusion, but in my opinion Macao (China) should be included in the same way as you have included small parts of other countries (e.g. Uruguay, Malawi). I would have nominated the quiz otherwise.

I agree with this, but have nominated it anyway, in the hope that this issue will be ironed out. Good quiz.

I don't want to nickpick but Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu were also Protuguese colonies in India but I cannot see them on this map.

Portugal did not control India, they were in control of Goa but this is not a type in. If Macao works instead of putting China then Goa should also be the same.

Goa is a 100% part of India, Macau is an autonomous area of China, accepting 'goa' for India would be like accepting 'south' for Malawi.
