Hello Melanie, I had some food ideas for your dinner party.

Don't worry, this ain't George's old spag bol! I've come up

with a menu that will impress even your grandpa. Risotto to

start, then rigatoni with meaty ragu, and for dessert the

tiramisu Vanessa loves. I've enclosed some basic recipes,

but there's nothing normal about these special twists...!

For the risotto, presoak the rice in vodka. Bulgur works too

if rice is passé. Also, char a red onion to serve on the side.

If you detect an acrid aroma put on some light honey, as

this, and jam, enables the sweetness to come through.

You can whip up ragu easily but for richness add two eggs

and slowly fold them in. Skin the chicken - ragu made with

chicken skins has an unpleasant aftertaste - and add from a

masculine sheep (a ram) a rib or two and some offal. Your

butcher will do the disembowelling. Tongue also adds

flavour, and broccoli makes for a perfect accompaniment.

To go with the tiramisu, crème à la George is the ticket!

Take fresh cream and add cognac, cranberry juice and

a little squeeze of lemon. A couple of small but very ripe

bananas sautéed in butter are great on the side, and for

the final touch rub a kumquat in sugar and pop it on top!

I hope you find the menu pleasant, I agonised over it! I've

come far from survival on doner kebabs, right? If you want

to know what my magic touch is, I naughtily stole most of

the ideas from my aunt! Bon appétit, George Townsend

Wonderful series of quizzes, this and the others. One flaw though - "a male sheep (a ram) a rib or two" - this has another solution: Male, capital of the Maldives.

I am SERIOUSLY impressed you managed to work in "Paramaribo". This quiz deserves a nomination for that alone.
