* Technically Great Britain is not wrong! Worldwide and in the UK, lots of people say Great Britain. It is like calling America wrong for the United States.

Sure, I mean people argue over what is correct and to what degree with those and others like Holland. I don't know if I'd say it's technically correct, but it's certainly used widely. (Wikipedia has it as "loosely applied"). I don't have a strong opinion though, just put it in at the end for fun, knowing it can be a point of contention. And partly because I was running out of good bad spellings!

Nah, Great Britain isn't the same as the United Kingdom, so you're right, Overtired. GB is England, Wales and Scotland. But the UK includes Northern Ireland. "Technically" those 'lots of people' who use them interchangeably might get thumped if they went to Ireland. It's like people saying 'England' when they mean 'Britain', it rightfully winds up the Welsh and Scottish no end. It's just polite to get it right, innit.

Great Britain is a use for the island that contains England, Scotland, and Wales. Great Britain is also used (Barely, but a few people do) in the United States during the period of time when the British Empire took over the Thirteen Colonies.

America, can be applied as either the United States, North America, South America, Central America, or in the Eastern Hemisphere (I think), as both North and South America. (Central America is not a continent, at least where I live. Where I live Central America is a PART of the continent of North America, The continents where I live are Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia/Oceania, South America, North America, and Antarctica.)

Great Britain is talking about the normal island of the United Kingdom. This includes England, Scotland, and Wales. But, even though they sound the same, the United Kindgom includes Northern Ireland, while Great Britian doesn't. The only time that it was geographically accurate was when Northern Ireland was still part of Ireland.

United Kingdom (Abbreviated to UK) is a sovereign state consisting of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. While it is a sovereign country, the constituent countries are also countries. Tbh, I don't entirely understand it.

Great Britain is simply the big island containing England, Scotland, and Wales. To my understanding, it has no political significance and is just a geographical feature.

Yes, but confusingly, GB is sometimes used to mean UK. For instance at the Olympics the UK’s country code is GBR, the team is called Team GB, and the country is referred to as Great Britain.

Then thing is, if your learning from that quiz and it accepts wrong spellings, then when your doing and exam or something you get the spelling wrong.
