Just updated the quiz for the 2020 census data. Guangdong somehow keeps growing relative to the rest of China. Since someone was curious as to how I got the electoral vote totals, I coded a program in C++ that uses the Huntington-Hill method (the same method that the US government uses) to calculate how many representatives each subdivision would receive, then I added two (representing senators) to arrive at the final figure. The short time provided is part of the challenge- it's both a Chinese geography and speed-typing test.

Hint: refer to the newest census data of China. Some provinces have over 100 million people.

There is some serious gerrymandering going on in China, look at Hubei and Gansu!

Hubei just has the major cities Beijing and Tianjin carved out, and Gansu's weird shape is because it follows the fertile corridor between the Gobi Desert and the Qianling mountains. If you look at historical maps of Han and Tang dynasty control, you can see this fertile corridor clearly.

A very interesting concept, but it needs a better explanation of how the figures were arrived at and more time.

Got 443, beating 100%.

Just a suggestion: The representatives at the National People's Congress are also allocated according to the population of each province, see https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%AC%AC%E5%8D%81%E5%9B%9B%E5%B1%8A%E5%85%A8%E5%9B%BD%E4%BA%BA%E6%B0%91%E4%BB%A3%E8%A1%A8%E5%A4%A7%E4%BC%9A%E4%BB%A3%E8%A1%A8%E5%90%8D%E5%8D%95 .

Maybe make another quiz with this data?
