I thought this ought to be corrected: the proper title of the song you said was "Good News" is actually "No One Mourns the Wicked."

Thank you as well. I find it said that that was said about 4 years ago and it still hasn't been fixed.

Avenue Q doesn't open with 'It Sucks to Be Me'. I would argue that the opening number is 'The Avenue Q Theme', because it is a distinct song, although at the very least 'What Do You Do with a B.A. in English?' comes next!

It wouldn't be a very good question if the clue were "The Avenue Q Theme." :-)

The opening number of Godspell is "Prepare Ye". Also I typed in The Frogs (pretty obscure choice) and it didn't take.

"Tower of Babble" wasn't recorded on the original cast album, but the show begins with it. It segues into "Prepare Ye."

In addition to all the points already made (and "Willkommen" has 2 Ms), the opening song is Hello, Dolly! is "Call On Dolly" which is very short and leads into "I Put My Hand In" (which has the line "a woman who arranges things" in the middle).

Also, if you count "Night Waltz" (an instrumental with some humming from the cast) as the first number in A Little Night Music, which I agree with, then the first number in Camelot is the "March," which onstage happens before "I Wonder What the King" etc.
