Abolished Monarchies - 19th Century

The United States in 1776 and France in 1792 established for the first time a wave of anti-monarchial thought that resulted in the vast abolition of monarchy over the last two centuries. Guess which countries abolished their monarchy, were annexed by another sovereign state resulting in the aboliton of their monarch, or achieved independence from a sovereign state with it's own monarch during the 1800s.

India clearly didn't replace the Mughals with a republic. India didn't become a republic until after independence in 1947.

Also it was slightly unfair to mention France as having already shed their monarchy and then to include them again (unfair for those of us whose French history is a little vague). Better to not mention them in the description.
