Got everything except Patrick Henry. Who is the "she" you are referring to? Did he own slaves? Honestly don't know much about Patrick Henry at all.

Regarding a couple of the others... Jefferson... I wouldn't say he's deserving of hate if you consider the legal realities of the time in which he lived. There's nothing wrong with not living a life of monogamy and even if there were, he had been a widower for 5 years when the relationship with Sally was alleged to have begun. Marrying her or acknowledging the children they may have had together simply were not legal possibilities.

and concerning Edison, while he may have been a bit unscrupulous as a businessman, there is no doubt that he was also a brilliant inventor in his own right. Even his detractors, the credible ones anyway, will admit to that. But, yeah, he was kind of a dick.

Hoover... near psychotic and malignantly narcissistic no doubt.

Wilson.. well... being racist is a failing for sure. But...honestly how many U.S. presidents before 1913 weren't racist? Segregation of the US Army didn't end until 1948, by executive order from Harry Truman. That was hardly Wilson's idea.

He chained his wife up in the basement?? Weird. Never heard that, I'll have to do some reading.

She was really really sick and couldn't control herself. It wasn't all that bad, and he let her children see her. She eventually died of the disease, by the way.

:) haha... if I had any great ideas I would probably just make the quiz myself. But I think most of the good ideas have been done already. Hard to come up with something truly original. You can look through the site at other user-made quizzes for inspiration or maybe go to the "suggest a quiz idea" section... sometimes there are good ideas there and Quizmaster doesn't use all of them.

The Edison thing is entirely blown out of proportion. All of these "facts" people are getting are from a cartoon called The Oatmeal, and people just eat it right up. He was a great inventor, great businessman, and he doesn't deserve the disrespect everyone is giving him

At the time of Woodrow Wilson, it would have been seen as normal, we can say it was bad now but it's hard to say it was evil then when it was normal

^ So true. One cannot re-write history. We can only aspire not to repeat it.
