1991? Sega Saturn? No way that existed yet, right?

I'm surprised it took someone this long to point this out. :)

It was ported to the Saturn in 1994, but before then it was an arcade-only game. This mistake has now been fixed. Thanks for catching that!

Aw, man! I wish I knew this quiz existed when I made mine! Oh, well. You’ve still made a good quiz.

Usually whenever I have an idea for a quiz, I always check to see if someone else made it first. Sadly it's happened more times than I would've liked. Also, thanks!

Two more characters were announced at E3 this year (Hero and Banjo & Kazooie) so I’ve updated the quiz to include them!

Since the Hero is based on at least four different protagonists from the Dragon Quest series I briefly considered adding each of them onto the list but I decided not to because adding the name “Hero” makes it seem like they represent the series as a whole. For now I’m just adding the first game but I’ll change it if I need to.

Also, Banjo & Kazooie act as a duo but unlike the other duo characters, Banjo actually debuted in a different game than his partner, so they’re the only characters that are split up like that.

All right so now that Hero is out, I’ve changed my mind. All 4 Heroes will be featured on this quiz. Hope this doesn’t bother anyone but I want to keep it consistent.

Roy.....

Roy’s game was originally supposed to come out before Melee but it got delayed. I wouldn’t really call that “predicting.”

In most cases of multiple characters originating in the same game you have them listed in the order that they appear in that game, but Ganondorf is seen before Sheik in Ocarina of Time, and if you don't count the attract mode demo, Donkey Kong is seen before Mario in Donkey Kong.

Hmm... it appears you are correct on both counts. I'll update this quiz once the next DLC fighter is announced.

Why are all the Hero skins listed separately? Why in that case would characters such as Galactic Knight not be included?
+1
Level 89
Jun 8, 2021
Because the game treats the Heroes as four separate characters in the same character slot. Same with Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings, Olimar and Alph, Steve and the other Minecraft characters, etc.
