Famous Horror Movies

Can you list the most famous horror movies? Note that this does not necessarily reflect the quality of the movie, simply the ones that most people know of and that horror fans should be able to recognise.

Decent list, but I'd consider following titles among the most famous, too: The Sixth Sense, Carrie, Frankenstein/Bride of Frankenstein and The Birds. Also, could you accept "Blair Witch Project" without "The"?

Of course I can. Thanks for the feedback! I did consider some you mentioned but I didn't know if they were famous enough. I'll add them now.

Instead of just this movie, can you accept all movies without "the" also? I missed the omen and the ring because it wouldn't accept "Ring" and "Omen"

I also missed a few because of the mandatory "the"

I agree. This turned into 'name as many horror movies as you can'. And when the big ones weren't there I was disappointed.

Can you accept "6th sense" / "the 6th sense" for the sixth sense?

"most famous" is a bit ambiguous even though I did quite well my friend next to me says they have only heard of about half of the films on this list

also I would not class Jaws or Silence of the lambs as horror films they are just thrillers I live in the UK and Jaws has a PG rating...... hardly a horror movie rating
