Cool quiz! Maybe Utica for U? I don't know if it's so well-known, but Cato the Younger died died there 46 BC and is therefore sometimes called Uticensis.

For K, the kalends was the first day of a month. For U, Ulysses is the Latin form of Odysseus. There is some numismatic evidence suggesting that the wife of Aurelian, Ulpia Severina, ruled for a time herself, which would then make her the only ruling Empress of Rome (not counting later Empresses of just the East).
