Good quiz but... socialite could be 100 different people. Like Wallis Simpson for instance. She was a socialite and had a bigger impact on the world than Paris Hilton. And most "socialities," Paris Hilton perhaps most of all, should not be known by anyone. You couldn't take her off and put on... Harriet Beecher Stowe? Hatshepsut? Theodora I? Catherine the Great? Isabella? Wu Zetian? Margaret Sanger? Betsy Ross? Eleanor Roosevelt? Pocahontas? Sacajewea? Imedla Marcos? Frida Kahlo? Benazir Bhutto? Sandra Day O'Connor? Lucille Ball? Janet Reno? Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir? etc etc etc...

They all lost out to Paris Hilton?

haha... I can think of so many women more worthy than Paris Hilton or Miley Cyrus I'm also tempted to make a quiz called "40 Women You Ought to Know Instead of Paris Hilton." I actually think I just might. There aren't that many famous female quizzes on the site. There's room for more.

Yeah the women here aren't supposed to be completely influential, just 40 women that come up a lot in the news, history etc. If you haven't heard of Paris Hilton, then you must have lived under a rock.

Tried mightily, but failed to spell Aung San Suu Kyi closely enough. Also couldn't seem to get close enough to Boudica. Sigh. And although I see (Wiki) that Jane Addams was indeed a suffragette, I think of her more as a social reformer -- was surprised when the answer wasn't Susan B. Anthony. Fun quiz!

Absolutely...along with Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucy Stone, Lucretia Mott, Sojourner Truth, Carrie Chapman Catt...all of whom are far more identified with women's suffrage in the US.
