My learning for today is discovering Oulu exists! I never knew Finnish could sound so Hawaiian...

From what I've heard they both read the same way. So a Finn could read a Hawaiian text and they would understand even if the Finn wouldn't. And vice versa (even though Finnish has more letters).

The one on the south coast of France stumped me for a bit. Thought Monaco, then Cannes... what else could be there?

Same here, I reckon Monaco / Cannes would be fair type-inns. Possibly add Malmö for Copenhagen as well, even though the latter is the more popular one. Good quiz tho!

Minsk seems a bit too far to the northeast. I tried Vitebsk and Mogilev before I got it.

Exactly. It seems more or less like Lepel

That Sicilian town was by far the hardest. Never heard of it before.

Minsk is too far northeast, Tallinn is too far west, Lisbon is too far southeast.

So you should, logically speaking, accept (Barysaw, Vitsebsk, Polatsk? I have no idea which you meant), Paldiski and Setubal.

In Belarus it would be Lepel

Malmo should work for Copenhagen because the border isnt shown and the mark is bang on where Malmo is.

Catania was the only one I didn't know and have never heard of. Oulu was pretty random but I once flew to Oulu to get to Lapland :D

I only got the average score, but I did manage to get Catania. I couldn't remember the capital of Sicily, so I tried it on the off chance that it would work, and it did!

Nice map quiz. I like how there were some harder ones, although that doesn't seem to have stopped us JetPunk users from getting most of them right.

I kept trying Constantinople, but it's Istanbul, not Constantinople. Why did Constantinople get the works? That's nobody's business but the Turks'.

You can check the dimensions to make sure, but I'm almost positive that dot for Birmingham is right on Oxford, not Birmingham.

The dot for Minsk looks closer to Lepiel, it is too far northeast, Minsk is more central to Belarus.
