I don't think Vatican City as a legalistic state came about until the Lateran Treaty of 1925. I've been wrong before...

Romania and Bulgaria were also fully sovereign territories in 1900. They should probably be included, you don't want to annoy Romanians and Bulgars.

Liechtenstein was independent in 1900? I thought is became independent in 1940s.

Great idea for a quiz, but you REALLY need to fix it. Austrohungary and various derivations of it should be accepted and expecting people to type "Sweden AND Norway" as one answer is frankly daft.

Judging by other comments you may also want to check, San Marino, Monaco, and Bulgaria. As well as your source for Liechenstein's date of independence.
