KRAKOW, old royal capital of Poland. Its young, educated, and multilingual people are some of the friendliest and most welcoming people on earth. Beautiful, clean city with lots of history and many attractions to fit anyone's tastes. Also very close to Krakow are the Auschwitz/Birkenau concentration camp, famous Wieliczka salt mine with numerous salt sculptures and even an entire church built deep underground, and Zakopane - the mountain town known as "winter capital" of Poland, known for its unique mountainmen "Gorale" culture, great skiing (in winter) and hiking trails (when it's warm), and Morskie Oko - the almost paradise-like lake up in the mountains. I had the great privilege to explore this part of Poland last summer, and I recommend it definitely for your next tourist destination.
