Always immensely happy at the end of the quiz to find that the only ones I missed are the ones I didn't know at all - none that I'd forgotten or were on the tip of my tongue, but only ones that I truly had never heard of.

I agree - and even better when I find that, having got everything right, I had previously missed some. So, today, my memory was working properly!

I think that the spelling Duesseldorf should definitely be accepted, as "ue" is in German fully equivalent to "ü" and will be used by native speakers interchangeably.

I tried forever to get the spelling right with "Dniepr" and Dnepr" and "Djnepr", no way I could guess an "e" was required at the end too!

Denmark is historically considered part of Scandinavia, though it is not on the Scandinavian peninsula, while Finland is on the Scandinavian peninsula but not considered part of Scandinavia. This is similar to how Indonesia doesn't have land on the continent of Asia but is considered "Asian" because of its culture and proximity to Asia.

Wasn't Darmstadt another city that was firebombed in 1945? According to Wikipedia, "Following the main raid another diversionary raid by 4 Mosquitos was made on the night of 23/24 February 1945 to draw night fighters away from the main target of Pforzheim." I don't really know what Mosquitos are, but I think it should be accepted as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombing_of_Darmstadt_in_World_War_II

The quizmaster has updated the stats. Before the stats for each quiz only looked at the last 3000 times it was taken. Now it looks at its entire history. The result is average scores have fallen so you probably have a few new points.
