This one's a little Belgian centric, I apologize. With less than 0.2% of the world's population, it accounts for more than 11% of the questions on this quiz.

You could replace non-Belgian images with one of Bruges and one of Brussels Sprouts and bring it up to 22% :)

Huh, I tried so many spelling variations of "Brandenburg Gate" before I realised it was asking for the city...

I did that for Beijing, trying to figure out how I could possibly misspell "Bird's Nest'!

Considering that Brandenberg is a city in Austria seems like that might be an acceptable answer.

It's named for the City Brandenburg in Germany, though.

yes well that works, too. Popular convention in older cities was to name gates in city walls after the cities in the direction they were pointed at. Not sure if that's where Brandenburg Gate got its name from but seems plausible.

Maybe because Berlin was part of a duchy called Brandenberg?

brandenburg was an elector in the holy roman empire, and their capital was in berlin

cut & paste: "The Brandenburg Gate (German: Brandenburger Tor) is an 18th-century neoclassical monument in Berlin, built on the orders of Prussian king Frederick William II after the (temporarily) successful restoration of order during the early Batavian Revolution. One of the best-known landmarks of Germany, it was built on the site of a former city gate that marked the start of the road from Berlin to the town of Brandenburg an der Havel

So... what I said. So named because that's where the city gate going to Brandenburg was. I just didn't know which Brandenburg.

Couldn't batholith work for that last one?

No:
A batholith is a large mass of intrusive igneous rock (also called plutonic rock), larger than 100 square kilometres (40 sq mi) in area

If you think it's too Belgian centric, then you might like to add Bengaluru, Bangladesh, Bengali or Brisbane. It's still a great quiz though I didn't got Brussels.

That was fun! A good mix of simple gimme prompts and more difficult ones. I'm not too concerned about Belgium being over-represented.

Tried "badlands" for "butte". Is that too general or could it be accepted?

Badlands might be too general since there are many different looking “badlands” in the USA at least.
