The Estonia clue also feels misleading, like it could be a body of water or a type of feature. This quiz is not testing knowledge, it's testing your ability to even get the questions, which seems unfair.
What are you even talking about? Bonn was the capital of West Germany (although correctly known as "Germany"), about 300 kilometers away from Berlin. Ever thought of using Wikipedia?
West Berlin and West Germany are NOT the same! The capital of West-Berlin was West-Berlin!
Did they have signs saying "YOU ARE LEAVING THE AMERICAN SECTOR," when going into the British sector of Berlin. I might be wrong, but I think those signs were only when going into the Soviet sector (East Berlin).
Bonn is a city of 300 000 far in the west of Germany, just south of Cologne on the Rhine, and the birth place of Ludwig van Beethoven. (just kidding, actually Bonn is the capital of Berlin, Cologne is the name of a fashion quarter in Paris, and Beethoven was born in Vienna, son to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart)
Nice series! I'm wondering if you have plans of going on with the following letters. I hope you don't mind but after adapting the first 5 to the italian version I have done also the F and the G
I think Carry has a point, and the answer bothers me somewhat, as the GDR did not consider East Berlin, but the whole of Berlin as its capital. I can't think of a good fix for this, but that doesn't mean the comment must be dismissed out of hand.
This rule works for the Commonwealth as well, look at Australia!
But I think it's unfair to say they're obsessed. Look at any country and they name everything after leaders. There's a whole USA state called Washington!
England is not a country. It's technically called a country, but I personally don't agree with it. A country means it's an independent nation. England is not an independent country. It has the same distinction as a province/territory in Canada or a state in America. That's like saying New York is a country when we all know it isn't.
I don't know why this quiz only got 3 stars. I personally gave it 5. I like that there's no clues on some of the questions. This adds difficulty and gets you thinking a little more. Remember, folks, imagine you're on Jeopardy and you're given a clue. They're not going to give you 100 hints before you give the answer. So same goes here. You have to guess what the answer is when only given a picture prompt.
Is it a mistake to not include clues for the fourth row? I don't hate it, but it seems like every other quiz in the series has clues for each picture. Either way, fun series!
East Berlin.
2. Once you left West Berlin, where would you be?
plats: yeah I guess you're right. Though you still wouldn't be anywhere near Bonn.
