I have heard of a grand total of six of these. How are Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr not on here? Very surprising.

I suspect a lot of these are popular in different parts of the world. Also, some of them I think are things that never really blew up on their own, but got some artificially inflated numbers through trickery. For example, there's no way in hell 1.6 billion people use Google+. Google just integrates YouTube and Gmail so that if you have one of those, you have a Google+ account even if you've never once looked at it. And an old phone of mine came with Orkut installed as non-removable bloatware. I'm sure a few of the others have done something similar.

There is no way in hell Google+ is the most popular. If they have that many registered users, that's only because they've integrated YouTube and Gmail accounts. The actual number of people that use Google+ is probably less than 1/10 of that number.
