The KKK is a far left organization. It was born from, and an arm of the Democratic Party. After the Civil War and reconstruction, they were not happy with the freedoms bestowed upon black Americans. It was to intimidate and keep blacks as subservient to the whites. It was the Republican party and Democrat Presidents Kennedy and Johnson who are credited with the political end for the equal rights to blacks. It would not have occurred if MLK, Medgars Evers and others pushed for this to occur.
