Woohoo 100, seeing as I am an American though, it would've been pretty embarrassing to get anything less

Well, to be fair, a quiz about North Korea would just as easy. Every answer would be "Kim".

Level 86

What is the capital of North Korea?

What is the longest river in North Korea?

What are the four largest cities in North Korea?

Yeah, I see what you mean.

I think this is one of the only country quizzes I've scored 100% on, usually I'm 1 or 2 questions short.

I'm American and I missed the Olympic athlete, but I'm not embarrassed.

oh you should be , cuz i guess michael phelps has most medals for single person in the history of olympics , which is pretty awesome , at least for me - an indian

oh , and india has more than thrice the population of US, and it is a fact that india has only 9 gold medals in olympics - 1 more than michael phelps record(8 medals in 1 olympics)

Mt. McKinley has been officially renamed Denali. From your comment, it sounds like QM has made the surprising decision not to accept McKinley as a type-in?
+2
Level 43
Jul 25, 2020
I understand, it seems to me a name change for remembering the indigenous people. Not that I know that, but it seems like a name like that, or it looks like a name from India too. Denali. But the nickname "McKinley" was not accepted before I commented on that. But the last part of your comment I didn't understand

Please consider rewording the "largest lake" question. While Superior is the largest lake at least partially within the US, Lake Michigan is the largest lake entirely in the US. Perhaps more importantly, Lake Michigan's area is larger than the US portion of Lake Superior - though not by much.

Accept "eagle"? After it didn't accept that, I tried other animals. Maybe one day Jetpunk can answer with a "more information please" to answers it decides require more detail :)
+6
Level 65
May 16, 2020
I like that idea "please specify" would be hard to implement though I would imagine. (especially since answer are currently accepted without having to press enter)
+4
Level 78
Jul 4, 2020
Yeah I just put eagle then got confused because I couldn’t really think of anything else
+1
Level 61
Jul 4, 2020
But not all eagles are our national bird, I know golden eagles are in the US but they are not our national bird. But the animal is confusing because the Bison is our national mammal and was not accepted. I also put eagle at first then bison before i realized that bald eagle is our national bird not just eagle.
+1
Level 68
Jul 4, 2020
Thanks for simplyfing that
+1
Level 60
Jul 5, 2023
At least maybe mention in the question, "Please be specific."
+5
Level 77
May 13, 2020
The national animal is actually the buffalo or bison. Congress passed the National Bison Legacy Act, and President Obama signed it into law, in 2016.
+9
Level 71
May 14, 2020
The bison didn't replace the bald eagle. They just extended the bison a symbolic title in addition to the bald eagle in hopes it would help with the conservation efforts.
+11
Level 66
Jul 22, 2020
I like the implication that the bald eagle's title is something other than symbolic. Like it has to show up for work on Monday or something.
+1
Level 84
May 14, 2020
Specifically, the act makes the Bison the national *mammal* of the USA. I guess we really needed one? Bison aren't exactly endangered any longer.
+2
Level 61
Jul 4, 2020
What does endangered have to do with it? The bald eagle is not either.
+4
Level 74
May 18, 2020
The bald eagle has been the national animal since 1782. No one would consider anything only four years old to be its replacement.
+3
Level 69
May 14, 2020
Technically the bald eagle is the national bird and the American Bison is the national animal. I got it right because I realize the eagle is more commonly known but it might help to clarify the question?
+3
Level 84
May 14, 2020
Mammal ≠ Animal.

https://www.govinfo.gov/features/national-bison-legacy-act

+9
Level 89
Jul 4, 2020
I think what joey meant is that the American Bison is the national mammal of the country, not the national animal.
+4
Level 59
Jul 4, 2020
Your "equation" is not accurate expression. All mammals ARE animals. Not all animals are mammals.
+1
Level 60
Jul 5, 2023
I would argue that it is mathematically. It would be fair to say {1, 3} ≠ {1, 2, 3, 4, 5}.
+2
Level 65
May 16, 2020
Weird/amazing how the lowest guessed answers are the anthem and the constitution..
+15
Level 76
May 18, 2020
Not really, if you consider all the non-Americans taking the quiz. Do you know the names of the national anthems of, say, Italy, Spain or Russia? How about the name of the 'constitution' of Germany? Should be easy, but turn out to be surprisingly hard.

Quizmaster started it with China on second intentionally so that US Quiz will be on FP on 4th of July. and even if the series was not these, I would not be surprised as I have seen many times, quizzes on FP are related to theme, like Halloween related quiz on Halloween, Christmas related on 25th Dec. And April Fools related on !st April.

World War II killed more than 400,000 Americans, but only about 365,000 were killed in the Civil War
+10
Level 52
Jul 6, 2020
Over 600,000 Americans were killed in the Civil War when you include Confederate losses. While they might not have wanted to be a part of the US, their secession was never recognized and southern residents remained American citizens after the Union won.
